The upgraded TMG EV P002 completed a successful first test as it prepares to defend its electric title at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
Pikes Peak legend Rod Millen drove the car for the first time, completing more than 30 laps of a special lay-out at Carolina Motorsport Park supported by engineers from TMG and TRD USA, who developed the updated aerodynamic kit. Check out the photos on our Facebook page.
After several upgrades, not only to the aerodynamics but also to the electric powertrain and other systems, the test focused on car balance, systems testing and driver comfort.
After a trouble-free test in which all objectives were met, Rod Millen said: "I came away from the test today feeling very, very good about the initial car performance and balance. The new aero package in particular allows me to brake deeper and harder and corner faster. The engineers from TRD and TMG seemed to be gelling well and are focused on getting the most out of the car. I am looking forward to working more with my new race engineer Tom Smith and also working with the advanced TMG EV powertrain to optimize the settings for the mountain.”
